if you are not mechanicly minded you should leave this to an expert.

you will need good selection of tools, most of all a rattle gun and air compressor, don't try if you don't have as you have to remove crankshaft bolt, which is done up real tight

first disconcet battery, drain all coolant, remove radiator, remove the exhaust shield and manifold,

remove air cleaner box and hose, drain Power Steering fluid, remove all belts firstly loosen the three bolts that hold on pulley, loosen and take off all the bolts that hold the a/c compressor to its bracket,be carefull as the compressor gas is under pressure.you can let it hang carefully.undo the pipe that goes to the power steer pump, then there are 2 bolts that hold the pump on,remove these.remove fuel and wiring connectors, remove all the manifold bolts, they are a bit of a pain to get to,also you will have to undo the manifold stay bracket, located in the middle half way down the manifold

the inlet mainfold can stay in car but make sure its loose and no bolts still hold it to the head.ok now comes the triky part, removal of timing belt, remove all the bolts holding timing cover on,you must remove crank pulley now. remove the rest of the cover bolts and the cover.remove the rocker cover, remove spark plugs,

turn engine over by the bolt on the camshaft,to align the timing marks, make sure they are in the correct posistion, use rattle gun again to remove cam shaft bolt, leave belt and pulley attached now there are 3 Allen head bolts that hol the water pump on loosen these bolts, the water pump then has to be turned to slacken off tension of the timing belt, when this is done remove timing belt and cam pulley, remove the other bolts from all around the the plastic inner timing cover, some are triky to find when you have found them all the cover will fall off.remove all the head bolts now the cam box will then lift off becarefull because all the rockers are loose and will fall off.

now double check that you have undone everything and the head should come off.

to refit is more hard task

but this should help you
