Should be a label posted either on door jamb or on fuel cap filler door
Line up the timing marks on both camshaft sprockets so that they face each other. And line up the crankshaft pulley mark with the mark on the engine block.
I tried and tried to get that light to go off, i was told the airbags would still function properly with the light on or not. so if it really bugs you just take out the 10 screws that hold the guage cluster in the dashboard and remove the light bulb. that's what i did.
Or you can try and reset it by disconnecting the battery for min of 5 mins, but make sure you have the code to reprograme the radio
Try disconnecting the seat belt light connector under your drivers seat, then turn engine on, air bag should complete self test. Then turn engine off and reconnect seat belt light and all should be working fine.
I have pulled my hair out to find the answer to this question myself. The factory manual and Alldata.com say that the crankshaft mark should be pointed straight down aligned with the mark on the tin behind the pully. As for the top two cams, they should be pointed at each other. That's as far as I've gotten so far.
You are both a bunch of dumbassz. The car is rouvalis. Check your Idle Air Control. Most often this is the cause of my problems. It might be stuck open and letting air into you buthole. When you turn the car off, the Idle Air Control is suppose to close so dieseling doesn't occur. Thank you for the answer. I found out and solved the problem though, and got rid of the vehicle. Seems the wiring harness under the passenger side carpet had gotten wet and a connector had corroded poop. poopy head
First top up the power steering fluid, then with the engine running, turn steering slowly all the way to the left, and then, still slowly, all the way to the right.
Check that power steering fluid level hasn't dropped, and top if necessary.
Repeat the process half a dozen times and you should be good to go.
When you set to do this on your own, it is critical that you get it right from the beginning, or you risk destroying your engine. The most important thing is to ensure that all the marks on the gears align correctly with the corresponding marks on the timing belt. Wind the engine over by hand to ensure the marks on both sides align properly, before you replace the covers.
have to remove the glass mechanism handle the three bolts in the bottom of the panel the rest are clips pull them
The Daewoo Lanos 1998 has only 2 screws at the bottom and one in the handle. I tried the shoe string thing to remove the window crank, without successs but managed to get the circlip out using a flat trowel to separate the window crank from the inner spacer and then hooking the circlip out with something thin with a hook. Getting the circlip back on again afterwards proved a lot more problematic. Mark
There is a small black plastic piece that surrounds your door handle. You MUST take that off, I find a small flat tip screw driver works best. The plastic cover that goes on the inside part of the door where your mirror is should be removed, makes it a lot easier to remove door trim: No screws on that part just grab from both sides and pull. 3 screws on bottom and 1 screw inside the armrest. The window crank, easiest way tried and true, shoestring, pull handle towards inside of car until you have enough room to fit the shoestring between crank and plastic washer. Give it a pull back and forth and it'll pop right off; clip should stick to shoestring as an added bonus.
To put the handle back on simply clip the circlip onto the handle and then push the handle onto the spindle
You can get a free on line manual from the main GM motors site in the USA, it also has a useful diagnostic tool that I have used several times. Hope this helps.
Otherwise you can also download it from this location. http://rs419.rapidshare.com/files/240150711/Daewoo_20Matiz.zip
Try disconnecting the battery cable, then reconnecting. If the airbag light still comes on, you need to take it to the dealer. Something in the airbag circuit isn't working correctly. To fix might involve removing the airbag. I've had the airbag light come on in my car two times & I've taken it to the dealer each time. I'm leery working around the airbag.
You must disconnect the battery for a min of 5 mins
daewoo use vauxhall engines who are now Chevrolet so to get your manuals try them.AnswerThanks to Radu Demene over at Daewoo Romania, I was able to get my hands on an ENGLISH Cielo User Manual.

On a 2000 (not sure 01 is the same or not), it is located uner the dah on the passengers side. Held on by 4 (I believe) bolts and sensor connector. Remove the bolts and attached wiring. Blower should remove easily.
compression check The Daewoo Lanos has an interference engine, if the timing belt failed, there is a strong possibility the pistons hit valves before the engine stopped completely. First perform a compression test, if the valves are bent they will not seal properly and the compression readings will be low. Keep in mind if the timing belt is broken or not installed correctly, this could cause cylinders to have low compression also. Inspect with a fiber optic borescope through the spark plug holes, look for impressions in the piston tops. The fiber optic borescope can help by giving an indication of the damage that may have occured without disassembly.
you dont bring it in to the dealer the moduale is usually in the sterring colume and you have to take it apart to do this
You can try disconnecting the battery for a min of 5 mins, make sure if your radio needs a code you have it

I took apart my dash to find that the control cable has a broken shield over it. to easly check this your self just above the gas peddle and to the right there is your heater box on the side ov it is a control lever for diferant settings see if you can move it. GM is now importing parts for Daewoo's You can get one for $40 plus shipping Call 800 373 7273 Chevrolet's Aveo is the same drivetrain & transmission as a Daewoo Lanos. Order the sensor from any Chevy dealer --but expect a hassle. They will pry and pry about what the VIN number of your "Aveo" is. Tell them it is an '04 equipped with an E-Tech 1 engine. This earlier sensor will fit. The same thing happened to me. GM in North America does not offer parts for vehicles sold under the Daewoo brand name from 1999-2002. In Canada, the only authorized source for Genuine Daewoo parts is Solvit, 60 Esna Park Drive, Unit 5, Markham Ontario. Contact information is available on their website at www.solvit.ca. You can get the replacement key at Home Depot, is the car key # 27R
YOu will have to remove the rear seat and the cover. This will make the fuel pump visible. Once you do this you will have to disconnect the two fuel lines and electic plugs. One you turn the lock, the fuel pump assembly will come out.
Any plasic parts cannot be repaired. The radiator and and thermostate housings are easy repairs. The bypass tube in the rear requires the intake system to be removed.
Check your brake light switch I assume it is not coming out of park.AnswerChange the transmission fluid and filter and if that doesn't work you probly fried the grears and need to get it rebuit.
The radio code feature of Daewoo models (sold in the US from 1998 - 2001 as Leganza, Nubira, and Lanos) is meant to be an anti-theft security feature, but unfortunately it can also present a problem to legimate owners when their car batteries have died or been replaced. When the radio is removed from the power source (or the power source is interrupted), the radio will reset itself (prevent any use) and flash "CODE" until the proper code is entered.
Each radio has a specific four-digit code, which was originally provided on a plastic card within the owner's manual kit. New owners were encouraged to remove the card and keep in a safe place outside the car (eg home). Since these cards may be lost over time (or perhaps not passed along when the car was sold used), that leaves today's owner in a tough spot.
To obtain your code... You can try calling Daewoo Motor America (the company still operates a HQ in CA for service/parts/warranty purposes); their website is still www.daewoous.com. You can also try calling your original Daewoo dealer, who hopefully still has some technical materials and personnel to help you identify your unique code. Some General Motors dealers may be able to help, as GM acquired Daewoo and still sells Daewoo-made cars in the US under their Pontiac and Chevy brands. But all methods above may be difficult for an individual detailed problem such as obtaining your unique radio code.
If all else fails, TRY THE CODES BELOW, which were the most common codes used in models during the 1998-2001 model years.
I am posting these because - although the code feature was a valuable anti-theft feature - there have been no models sold in the US since late 2001, and the radios are now undoubtly worthless to theives. At this point, the radio code feature can only be a major nusance to an owner of a still-running used Daewoo. Good luck and enjoy your car!
If you lost your stock radio security code and have disconnected the battery, your radio will need a code before it will work again.
More than one person has had good luck with 2253 but also try these:

yes its looks are cute, but I seriousley woulnd buy one ever again. First of all they have this problem with blowing head gaskets, The parts are difficult to buy unless you know or have a dealer near you. Other then that you will have to wait quiet along time. Your insurance is higher, because this company no longer ecsitst. All in all they are nice care. With crappy motors. The timing belt is attached to the water pump this means if your pump goes so does your head. And all this happens within a matter of seconds. ( MY WARNING TO YOU? DONT BUY ONE!!) Thank you.
I had to buy a blank key from a daewoo dealer and then I took it into a hardware store to them to cut it for me. You can get the replacement key at Home Depot, is the car key # 27R I've just been quoted
