it just snaps in and out . you must first get it past the gear shift put it in first and carefully remove it . don't break it its probably worth more than the truck.
Carefully remove the A pillar cover.. Then pop out the speaker screen..
Open driverside soor and look at the side of your dash. Remove fuse box cover and it will be in there.
RIGHT HAND SIDE BEANEATH THE DASH THERE IS A BLACK COVER,TAKE THIS COVER OFF AND THE HARNESS PLUGS INTO THE RESISTOR.
blower motor for 1998 gmc sierra 4x4 is located on the passsenger side,under the dash, you will need to remove the glove compartment door for easier accessand to remove blower motor cover.

My '02 does...rt side under the dash. Has a few torx head screws. Remove cover(s) slide filter out.
Under dash on passenger side
the 2005(55) models have 3 one at each end of the dash(open doors fully and remove plastic cover on end of dash) and one under the bonnet
under the dash on the passenger side, remove the panel on the bottom of the dash, and its behind the blower motor
you have to pop the dash off then it will either have 2 clips holding it in or 2 bolts
The dash has to be removed which is a HARD job. I suggest taking it to an auto trim ahop.
Might be able to get at in from underneath but probably will have to remove the dash cover
