The area where the driver's left foot would rest and the area where the passenger's right foot would rest
It simply pulls off. There are two square moldings on the foot rest that align to two square posts screwed to the floorboard. Be careful when restoring the footrest, be sure to properly align the posts.
On the driver side - under the steering column area and bordering the left wall - like where your left foot would rest.

the fuel pump relay for a 2002 Nissan Sentra GXE (1.8L) is located in the driver side garnish (kick) panel, just in front of the driver side door. Just to left of the left foot rest is a plastic nut that holds the kick panel to the floor board. Remove that nut and pull down and out to remove the panel and expose a small bracket that holds two relays. The blue one is the fuel pump relay.

On the Frame, on the left side near the left foot rest. Under it
Using a screw driver, remove the screws and the clips in the panel of the door and remove the panel gently. Remove any wiring connectors between the panel and the door, then remove the panel the rest of the way.
