The fuel pump is in the fuel tank ! if its a work van i would consider cutting the cargo area floor just above the fuel pump access/fuel guage port in the fuel tank if you dont want to do this then you have to get the van on a ramp or car lift so you will have enough room to drop the fuel tank Beware if done this way and with the age of the van there could be some steel lines that wont take the movement and start leaking, hope this all goes well for you its a big job either way, one other consideration when purchasing the new pump I have found the orginal equipment pumps last longer even tho they are a lot more money Good Luck
