I had a '72 which should be the same. You have to remove the door, then a few screws that are around the front edges inside, then remove a duct behind it that keeps it from moving back (at least in mine that had A/C) .
It will then tilt down and in toward the firewall for removal.
My truck is a 1995 Silverado but I would imagine they are the same. Open the golve box. On the outer left side you will find a cable attached. Slightly close the box and slide the clip forward to remove. You will then be able to squeeze the top of the glovebox a little and lower it down to remove.
Remove tyhe dash undershield from under tyhe glove box assembly, you may need to remove the glove box assembly for access.
You can access it by removing the three screws which retain the glove box and then remove the glove box itself. You then remove the duct between the blower motor assembly and the heater assembly.

To remove the air box on a 2007 Mazda 6, remove the nuts on the top of the box. Carefully place the nuts aside, and remove the top to access the filter or housing assembly.
The heater core is located under the hood in the heater box where the blower motor is. Remove the heater hoses then the box can be unbolted and removed.

You will need to remove the glove box assembly. There is a door behind the glove box where the filters are located.
on the passanger side below the golve box. you have to take off teh side panel to get to the relay
Should be located in or near the fuse box - just unplug or in my case (85 el camino)there are two flashers behind the brake release under the dash,not down by the fuse box. (87) El Camino same place. Had to remove 6 screws to get to it. Look left and up (back towards driver) should be standard 12v flasher for both.
OPen hood, remove 2 heater core hoses against the firewall on passenger side. Open passenger fron door, open golve box, remove glove box and all contents, there you will fins heater core. small socket set is all that is needed. Took me 1 hour - from start to finish - I am a DIY - weekend warrior that likes to wrench on my own stuff
