It's an absolute complete pain in the a$$ to replace the heater core. You had best go to the library and look it up in a chiltons book or similar as extremely painful to replace.
In order to get at it properly you have to remove the entire dash, yes the entire dash as it's all one peice. And to remove the dash you have to drop the steering column so the dash can be pulled out,etc. Also the removal of the doghouse, the radio,etc.etc.
Or you can do like I did if you're a redneck or you plan on keeping your van forever. I cut the dash right at the doghouse line that runs up the dash on the passanger side.
My suggestion is to look at a manual first and see if this is something you are comfortable doing.....as it's a big job, but it is possible......and if you have to take it in somewhere for them to do it's going to be a fortune to do.
