On the 94 Grand Am 3.1-V6 the Heater Core(HC) is located on the inside of the fire wall centered over the center body hump(Down and behind the radio). Start by raising the car up so you can access heater hoses from underneath. Then remove driver, passnager under-dash panels, center console and radio trim. I found it helpful to also take off the lower glovebox, lower glove box panel and radio: this gives you a better view of the inside of the dash. Next remove the duct attached to the back side of the heater core housing. Now you need a 5.5 m socket to remove the HC housing screws. I was only able to pull the top of the housing down to gain access to the HC. All that's left is to remove the straps and HC. Then just reverse the process to install. David

you need lots of tools to do that then take it out carefully
No. You will have to remove the shift knob and center console and part of the lower dash in order to access the heater core housing. Be careful not to damage the housing when removing it; there are some screws in the front which are difficult to see and access.
