You must remove the entire lower dash assembly- start with the woodgrain trim that runs between the upper and lower dash. There are a few 10mm bolts in the chrome strip at the top, then you pull the vinyl boot at the column forward, put the car in 1st gear to get the lever out of the way, then remove the trim. Then there are a few 10mm bolts holding the lower dash on, and 2 T15 torx screws in the sides (door jambs). Then unplug the ashtray light, and remove the lower dash. The radio is now accessible to remove. You may want to disconnect the glovebox lamp so your battery doesn't die.
You have to remove the whole lower panel of the dash with either Alan or torch wrench.
