Vauxhall astra 1999 petrol 1600cc cam belt timing marks?

the cam timing mark is behind the belt front cover, take it off and you will see the mark on the drive cog,the alignement mark is on the back cover at the top. the other timing mark(crank shaft)is behind the pulley, there are no marks on pulley. to align them properly you need to remove the bottom pulley (crankshaft),remove the timing belt cover and timing belt, then align each pulley to their marks, refit bottom pulley and timing belt and check that marks are still aligned on respective positions. if they have moved, take belt off top pulley, aligne marks, refit belt, check again for mis-alignement.one tooth out is allowable on one pulley if o/k refit front cover, start her up.

How do you replace timing tension pulley on 1994 escorts?

You'll have to remove the timing cover which means the motor mount on that side has to come off and the engine weight supported by a block under the pan of the engine. The serpentine belt has to come off first. Then the timing cover. Then the crankshaft pulley. Then the timing belt has to come off. Last thing to do is take the tensioner pulley off last. The new pulley and a new belt will have to have the timing of the valves set correctly. This is beyond the scope of a DIYer. Get a mechanic to do this for you. If the valve timing isn't perfect, the engine will not have any power.

How do you replace the timing belton a 1995 Geo Tracker?

Remove the radiator and the clutch fan , Then remove the belts .You will have to loosen Alternator and the A/C compressor to do this . On the crank pulley there is 5 small bolts (8mm) around the inside of the pulley. Take them out . Then remove the pulley . Take the bolts out of the Timing cover and remove it . Under it you will find the Timing belt . It has a Tenisioner that has to be loosened . FIRST if possible align the timing marks . before removing the belt . This can be done by turning the large bolt that is in the end of the crank. . But if the belt is broken or damaged . Align the bottom pulley key way with the mark on the oil pump 12:00. . and the top pulley with the notch in the metal plate that is behind the top pulley . 12:00 . Install the belt. Then tighten the tensioner. reassemble in reverse order

How do you change timing belt in holden barina?

It is not recommended that an amateur replace a timing belt in a Holden Barina. One would have to take everything off from the front engine cover to just remove the cover. Then, there are marks on the crank pulley that needs to be lined up to replace the timing chain. A licensed mechanic can help you with any questions.

How do you Remove Mazda B2200 lower timing belt cover?

You can do it without removing the driveshaft pulley but it's easier If you remove the pulley. To remove the pulley, take out the six small bolts that surround the driveshaft bolt (which is the big one in the middle). These little guys are awkward but you can do it. Then pull off the pulley with a pulley removal tool and then you have easy access to the lower timing belt cover. Then just remove the three or four bolts that hold this cover on and you have exposed the sacred lower innards. Congratulations. If you touching your timing belt make sure everything is all lined up when you put it back. Driveshaft pulley has a mark on the top (a little notch) and there is a little metal line thing on the lower housing above it. Right in the center. Then make sure your top cam wheel deal is also lined up with the one just under the arrow. Mine actually sits left half a tooth but works great there. Have fun =)

How do you install timing belt 1993 Honda Acura Vigor 2.5?

How do you replace the water pump on a 1990 Pontiac Le Mans?

Hey Connie==Get a manual from a parts store on your car and it will tell you how. You may need to get a manual from MOTORLIT.COM. Good luck Joe First buy a new thermostat, water pump and timing belt. Unsnap timing belt cover and remove top outside portion. Take off top belt pulley which is actually the power steering pump pulley. Note aligning mark on top timing belt pulley which matches a notch in the back of the timing belt cover. Also notice the bottom belt pulley has a notch which aligns with a protruding point on the belt cover next to the bolt where the back cover is attached. Remove the bottom belt pulley (not for the timing belt but the accessories) Try to align the top timing belt pulley which will align the notch on the accessory pulley before removing the pulley. Once the top pulley is removed you can remove the timing belt being careful to not move either base where the pulleys were attached which would mess up the timing. Remove the power steering pump (turn small nut on end of pipe into pump housing) and remove hose from other pump line. Now you can move the cover enough to remove the water line housing containing the thermostat. This should be replaced now since it is so much trouble to replace separately that everything should be done at the same time. The thermostat gasket has a slot to fit over both sides of the metal flange. The water pump is held by 3 Allen wrench bolts (metric good luck) and is also the timing belt tensioner. Install new pump and timing belt making sure marks and notches are correct and belt is tight enough using the turning of the water pump. Reassemble everything else.

How do you replace the water pump on a 1997 Geo Metro?

It's a real pain in the neck. You have to remove your timing belt cover, and fan belts just to get to the pump bolts. Once you get all of that off then you can get to the pump. You'll have to remove the pump pulley before you can remove it. I'd suggest you loosen the bolts holding the pulley on before you take anything else loose. Once you have them loose, you can proceed with taking the belts off and then all of the timing cover bolts and the harmonic balancer. Of course you know to drain the radiator before you start. The big bolt on the harmonic balancer is a 17mm in case you're wondering. That is if you have the 1.3 four cylinder. This is if you have the 1.0 three cylinder. Unload alternator. Remove crank pulley from underneath. Remove timing belt cover. Remove timing belt. I've read that this is an interference design engine. Putting the timing belt on wrong could slam the valves into the pistons when you start it. This is a great time to replace the timing belt

How do you change a crank shaft sensor for a 93 Oldsmobile delta 88 royale?

on a 90 olds 88 royale your sensor sits inside the timing cover...will need to remove the harmonic balancer (need pulley for that) and remove two screws to take sensor out. replace all parts same way they came out and in same order. passenger side of engine in timing cover

Where is the angle crank sensor on a 2002 Kia Optima?

On a 2003 Kia Optima it is located inside the timimg belt cover. Jack the car up on the passenger side front and take the tire off and you should see a pulley with two belts on it and the pulley should have four gold bolts in it size 12 metric take the belts off and the pulley to get to the lower part of the timing cover and the sensor is right inside the timing cover. Good luck!
