Open the cigarette tray, remove the small phillips screw. At the bottom of the door panel, there are two screws located under the carpet. Pull back the bottom front corner and rear upper corner and remove these two phillips screws. Remove the light cover, prying carefully at the front and rear of the clear lens. Behind it is a phillips screw.
There are a few metal clips around the periphery of the door that will hold the panel in place, but the panel is easily pried away from the door. However there remains one white plastic clip which fastens the interior door handle to the metal door frame in the center of the panel. I was unable to find any way to remove this, so ended up using a small pry bar to pull it from the square metal opening in the door.
After this, the panel is lifted upward to remove from the top of the door frame.
