On the inside of the door you will see a small black cover on the back of the panel you are removing. There should be 2 or 3 screws with covers over them. Unscrew and remove.

What does covering windows with plastic do?

~Actually, covering the windows with plastic can help keep the cold out and lower your energy costs. In mountain towns the windows are often covered inside and out by sealing off the windows all the way past the window frames. Outside, securing the plastic by rolling the outside edges of the plastc and using a staple gun to go through the thick roll thereby creating as tight a seal as possible. On the inside using masking tape or painters tape to create a nice tight seal. Also, the type of plastic used to seal windows is much thicker than you could buy in a grocery store. Thicker plastic can be found at hardware stores or paint stores. This kind of plasctic is very often used as drop cloths in painting houses.
