Remove the panels on each side below the seat, one has 2 screws, one has 1, while here unscrew the pipe cover one(1 bolt) also and unbolt the rear resevoir(1 bolt) from it, remove the bolts from each side of the front seat(2), remove the seat. Unlock and remove the rear seat, the upper side of the rear cowl has 4 bolts, 2 near the front seat and 2 under the rear seat. Then on the underside of it, on the left side of the bike, there are 3 plastic pop-in plug's, be careful taking these out as ive seen them break. Easiest way to remove these is using a flathead screw driver and carefully pry it out make sure you leverage the screwdriver on the underside of the bike so u dont damage your paint. I would suggest to reach behind the tool tray and carefully unplug the rear light. Now double and triple check that everything has been disconnected and removed from the rear fairing, It has to be lifted up and to the rear of the bike while slowly pulling outward on it. try one side at a time to get it seperated from the plastic on each side, it will feel impossible the first time, but easy after done once or twice. ALSO!, unplug atleast the negative on the battery before doing anything wire related.
