i can't give you a good how to, but i did have mine done on an altima. if you have the 2.4L 94-97 (may also include other years) type of altima then i'd say your screwed. you have to take off the front crossmember. then the chain cover comes off in two parts; a top part associated with the head, and a bottom part associated with the block. you'll want a hoist. oh and to get it to this point takes a good mechanic 3-4 hours. it's a 10 hour job i think. You could always just pull the engine out of the top and do it that way
One, remove the timing cover. The chain is under there. Don't forget timing of the chain.
next to the timing chain you will find it in the cover on front of engine where the water pump is mounted they call it the timing chain cover you will have to remove this cover to get at it
The timing chain is located under the valve cover on the passenger side of the motor.
Remove the exhaust manifold. This lets you pull it out. Also, you have to remove the timing cover. The pump is driven by the timing chain. You have to remove the timing cover and timing chain tensioner to get the pump sprocket out of the chain.
you have to remove the valve cover , the oil pan and the front timing cover. Then line up all the timing marks and remove the tensioners and guides then remove the cam gears and the chain
remove alternator, powersteering pump ,harmonic balancer ,and waterpump, the timing chain cover is now ready to come off also need to remove oil pan .timing chain is under cover
You don't have a timing belt, you have a timing chain..(that's for the other foreign automaker...that charge way to much at the lot..but are way too cheap to give you what you pay for.) you timing chain is located under you valve cover gasket, you would have to remove it in order to get at the chain.
I need to know where the timing chain is located in a 1988 Olds 98 regency brougham, and how expensive a timing chain is.
The timing chain is behind the timing cover which is behind the water pump. To get at it, you'll need to remove everything in front of the cover and loosen the oil pan a little.
Nissan n16 engines have a timing chain located behind a cover plate just above the water pump
Yes, along with the belts, intake, crank pulley, timing chain cover, timing chain, and chain guides.
ca20? remove all the belts, water pump pulley, underdrive pulley, timing chain cover and timing belt and the water pump is accessible. I would replace the timing belt too.
