Unplug the electrical connections and remove the 4 bolts.
remove exhaust, driveshaft, gas tank, starter, transmission bracket, disconnect sensors on transmission. than use a jack under the tranny 4 torque converter bolts, lastly, remove the bell housing bolts their are 6 the top one s are the hardest. its a pain. better off going to a junk yard . then to rebuid.
Disconnect the battery, and remove the electrical connection and remove the bolts, and reverse to install.
Drivers side of the transmission, remove the electrical connection, remove two bolts, and remove. Make sure the line on the switch is lined up before bolting it up.
Disconnect the battery and just remove the bolts holding the alternator, disconnect the wire connection and remove the alternator.
Push in on each side of the seat cushion and it should unlatch and for the back you should see the bolts that hold it and once you remove the bolts push up on the backrest and it will come out.

You have to drain the radiator, water goes to it, and remove the bolts, and remove the housing, a pain but take your time.

Drain the radiator, facing the engine look down on the right side and see the journal with 2 bolts and that is where the thermostat is. With a long extension remove the bolts and take out the thermostat and reverse the order to install.
Disconnect the electrical connection and remove the 4 long bolts and lift out put new one in and install the 4 bolts and re connect the connector and you're done.
no, i believe the 1992 crown vic uses a AODE transmission, while the Lincoln mark viii uses a 4r70w.
