Remove the plastic cover if your car still has it installed and remove the bolts holding the covers on and remove, the drivers side is a pain, you may have to remove other parts so they can be removed.

You have to remove all the hoses etc. from the top of the engine and on the drivers' side you have to remove the brake master cylinder so the cover can clear, it takes time and it's a pain to do, good luck.

1. Mark your plug wires 1-4 2. Remove your plug wires 3. Take off the 2 to 3 hoses connected to the Valve Cover. 4. Remove the 4 bolts from the coil packs and remove coil packs 5. Remove 6 bolts from Valve cover. 6. Clean up valve cover and make sure no gasket is left over. 7. Put new gasket on and repeat this in reverse for installation. Note: You will have to call Autozone or a local dealership to find out the torque specifications on your valve cover bolts. I usually replace them, but it is not necessary.

Do not do it if you do not need to. The easy way is to have a spare motor and replace it, removing motor from under and out. Still inclined to fix a valve cover gasket? The drivers side valve cover needs the plastic cowl removed; the peice that is below the bottom edge of windshield also the wipers and its motor and armatures. Your still not ready to remove valve cover, now unbolt the motor mount located under motor for the side working on. Now with a jack lift that side of motor 6 to eight inches please remember radiator hoses are still attached and they to are moving with the lift of the motor and the radiator is not moving. Guess what your still not ready to remove valve cover...remove the cover for the spark plugs and remove spark plug electrical connections making note of correct cylinder goes to each connection. The bolts for the valve covers are right on top remove use an old egg create to ensure each bolt goes back into the hole removed. Guess what now you'll notice the brake lines are in the way from the master cylinder. For easy reassembly of valve cover remove brake fluid reservoir from brake booster or undo the two offending brake lines from the master cylinder and fight the gasket falling off valve cover on reassembly. Do only one Valve cover at a time and reinsert and tighten that sides motor mount before doing the other side.

The pcv valve is in the dirvers valve cover top center and the 02's are in the exhaust close to the manifolds they are a pain to get to and very hard to see with out a lift. there are 2 sensors 1 on the driver side an passenger side. good luck

Hey William==It is in the valve cover. GoodluckJoe On most cars it is in the valve cover but on the 5.0L Ford, Lincoln, Mercury engines it is actually in the intake manifold back by the firewall. About the only way to get to it is to climb up onto the engine from the passenger side and look and feel down in there. Check out this site for a few pictures.
