How do you remove the water pump on a 1995 Lincoln Town Car?

Answer

get under the the car, beneath the gas tank. the fuel pump will have 4 wires coming from it and a couple hoses (it is on the front of the gas tank). the base of the pump is flat and round. disconnect the 4 wires where they are joined and label them . next, with a screwdriver, loosen the hose clamps and disconnect the hoses leading from the pump. then , take a flathead screwdriver and a hammer.( the round face has grooves sticking outward from the base); position the screwdriver against the round plate so it catches, then tap at a counter-clockwise direction. this will loosen the pump and it will lift up and out of the gas tank. don"t let anyone try to tell you the tank has to be dropped. that is not true. it is a 10 minute task .

Answer

Sorry if this comes out wrong, but the asker was wanting the water pump, not the fuel pump. The water pump is located on the front of the engine and is driven by the belt. Can't be 100% without looking but it should have hoses from the radiator or engine to it. To remove it, there will be somewhere between 2 and 4 bolts that hold it on. You will have to replace the gasket and put a bead of silicone sealant after replacement. If you are unsure of your abilities, you may have to ask someone with more experience for more help. If you have a family mechanic they will most likely give you specifics without charging you.
