Your local auto parts store can sell you an inexpensive tool that will remove the "C" clip that holds the handle in place. The tool should be aprox $5.
Remove the inside door panel of your 1997 Chevy Lumina. Remove the linkage to the window crank. Remove the window crank retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new window crank.

you need to remove the inner door panel. Usually pop grommets but may be screwed. That will give you acess to the crank and the inner workings of the door to remove and connect a power window if needed.
