The door speakers require drilling out 3 mounting rivets and you will need to build some wooden supports to mount the new speakers, no big deal, just to let you know it's not a simple remove and replace type deal.

That is correct if he was referring to the front door speakers but....I believe he is talking about the tweeters which is up by the window (triangular door sail). it is easy just pop off the triangle tweeter cover, undo the door panel held on by three screws and several clips then simply unplug the tweeter and remove the tweeter by using a 10mm socket to undo the bolt holding the tweeter bracket.
Try to use Toyota speaker adapter plugs so you don't need to cut wires and mess the electric system up. You can get them from Ebay or Amazon.
