Proper coating should only be done by a professional. The handset must be properly disassembled and critial parts protected. The existing paint must be removed, and best is with a "media blast" (Sand, etc). It must then be inspected for damage to the plastic and cleaned to totally dust free. Very specific primers, basecoats and clear coats are used for these substrates and must be applied at specific thickness and number of coats to get the adhesion and desired appearance. The paint is not cheap, neither is the proper equipment to get it done. More important is the ability to properly disassemble the phone and properly mask non removeable parts. Most high end paint systems also are multi component and perform best with heat cure. There are only a handful of coatings suppliers to the major OEM's and are mostly the major, international manufactures and do not sell these products directly to the public.
