How do you fix an interior rear door handle that does not actuate the door latch on a 1998 Ford Explorer XLT?
Try taking the interior handle off. The is a screw located underneath the actual handle, gently pull the casing back to reveal the inside of the handle. There should be an L shaped rod with a plastic holder on it. If the holder is off, you just need to swing it back so that it locks onto the L-latch. If it is not present, you may be able to find it at your local parts store or a junk yard. Good luck

How do you change the door handle on a Hyundai excel sprint 1996?
you need to first take off the interior side of the car door so you can get to the bolts that are holding the handle in place. there are two - one on either side of the handle and they can be difficult to remove. you need to make sure that you also pull out the key barrell from the old door handle by taking off the u clip holding it in place and there is also the connection wire from the interior handle to the exterior door handle that needs to be removed also. to put the new handle in remember to connect the wire for the interior handle and the key barrell then you can bolt the handle back in place.

Car door is jammed shut removed interior all rods working Took to mechancic he said they would have to cut a whole in your door is there any other way?
If you can manage to get the interior panel off (it is possible with the door closed) you will be able to actuate the release manually. I do not mean the handle. I am talking about the actual catch that holds the door shut. If nothing else call an automotive locksmith. He will not tell you that he has to cut a hole! But it will cost you upwards of $100.00. How to replace the door handle for 1998 eclipse?
Successfully done on a 98 Eclipse R/S w/o power locks or windows. The replacement exterior door handle typically comes with a new rubber/plastic seal and a new lock cylinder retaining clip. First, remove the 6 screws holding the interior molding to the door (x2 screws at the hinge, x2 screws at the jam end, x1 screw holding the molding at the interior door handle, x1 screw under a plastic cover in the door well (place to grab when closing door)). Remove the retaining clip from the window handle (if present) and remove the handle. Gently remove the interior door molding that's held in place by plastic clips. Roll up the window the whole way. Remove the bolt on the jam side of the door adjacent to the handle. This is one of 2 screws that holds the handle on. The other handle is located inside the void within the door. Peal back the plastic barrier on the latch side of the door to gain access to the bolt on the interior side of the door. To remove this bolt, I used vice grips to hold a 1" long 10mm hex bit socket to remove the remaining bolt. Once the bolts are removed, disconnect the x2 connecting rods (x1 for latch, x1 for interior lock switch) and remove the handle. Remove the lock cylinder from the old handle and install in the replacement handle. Seat the new handle in the door and install the x2 bolts to hold in the handle. Once the handle is secured, reconnect the x2 connecting rods and reinstall the interior door molding, screws and window handle.
