How do you repair your 98 dodge neon it will not hold a charge but if you jump it it will run for a while but will not run if shut off?

Sounds like you need a battery. Use a digital multimeter and when the car is running check the voltage at the battery to make sure you have over 13 volts. This indicates the alternator is charging. If the battery is bad the alternator should be charging over 13 volts easily.
