CMP-camshaft position sensor CKP-crankshaft position sensor
Crankshaft position sensor.
CMP= Cam Shaft Position Sensor.
A CKP is the crankshaft position sensor. The engine computer uses that sensor to know the position of the crankshaft for fuel and ignition timing purposes. With out the ckp the engine will not run.
The Crankshaft Position sensor is located inside your distributor. They do not sell this piece separate from the distributor. It is possible to go to a pick-a-part and remove the distributor housing that contains a CYP, CKP, and TDC sensor and replace yours with this one. Just make sure to put a warranty on it if possible.
# The CKP sensor is located on the front side of the engine block # Unplug the CKP sensor electrical connector and remove the mounting bolt and remove the sensor
The CKP looks like a small gear with long teeth located inside the distributor housing. If the CKP fails, unfortunately you must replace the entire distributor housing.
i dont kñow
Trouble code P0335 means: CKP Sensor Circuit Malfunction Replace the sensor and it should start up
No, there is not.
Knock sensor = CKP sensor on this vehicle.
Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP Sensor)
The crank position sensor (ckp) is located at the back of the motor, driver's side, mounted to the transaxle housing. It gets it's single from the flywheel teeth. First unplug it and then remove the retaining bolt and pull it up and out. Reverse precedure to install.
starter or CKP sensor?
what posicion is ckp in hdi
No the ckf and the ckp are not the same sensor for a 2000 Honda civic. The crank fluctuation sensor is behind the crank pulley and can be changed fairly easy with some mechanical knowhow when the timing belt is done. The crank position sensor is built into the distributor. To change this sensor you would have to rebuild the inside of the distributor or replace the entire distributor. Hope this answers your question.
the proper proceedure to replace cam sensor is pick up phone and call tow truck. if vehicle runs still call tow truck. a failed OR damaged cam synchroniser will RUIN YOUR DAY. DO NOT DRIVE. most common failure is magnent coming out of sensor and destruction of cam synchroniser will occur. THIS JOB IS NOT FOR THE AMATURE AND SHOULD BE PERFORMED BY A QUALIFIED TECHNICIAN WITH THE CORRECT SYNCHRONISER TIMING TOOL. DO NOT LISTEN TO THE IDOT BELOW, HE DOES NOT KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE CAM SHAFT AND CRANK POSITTION SENSORS!!!!! I don't know about the 4.0L. But on the 4.2L Engines; 1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. 2. Raise and safely support the vehicle. 3. Detach the electrical connector for the CKP sensor. 4. Remove the CKP sensor retaining bolts and remove the CKP sensor shield. 5. Remove the CKP sensor retaining bolts and remove the CKP sensor. 6. Installation is the reverse of removal.
CKP Crankshaft Position sensor
On my GMC V6 Sierra, the Crankshaft Position sensor ( CKP) is located on the front crank shaft cover, right side. The Camshaft Position sensor (CMP) is located under the rotor in the distrbutor. I have to replace both I think, but don't know until I take a look at both. I suspect the one under the rotor is loose. Truck runs great one day and like bad the next. Henry On a Dodge 3.9L the crank sensor (ckp) is behind the passenger side cylinder head in the top of the bell housing. The cam sensor (cmp) is inside the distributor, under the rotor.
DTC P1690: FUEL INJECTION PUMP CKP (CRANK) SENSOR DOES NOT AGREE WITH ECM CKP (CRANK) SENSOR. Monitor and Set Conditions: Fuel injection pump crankshaft position circuit is monitored when ignition is on and engine is running. DTC may be stored when no signal exists within specified window parameters with no Camshaft position (CMP) sensor or CKP DTCs present.
The timing sensor is called a Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP). It is located at the 10 O'Clock positon on the crankshaft pulley.
Trouble code P1340 means: CKP/CMP Sensor Signals Out Of Sequence
Crankshaft position sensor mounting bolt.
The CKP sensor is located on the left side of the engine compartment on the transaxle housing.
