I just did one of these. First you have to remove the glove box door. This is done by opening the door, then depressing the sides inward which releases the stops. Then lift the door up to remove.
Under the door opening there is a small plastic panel that has two plastic push-in type clips. Pry the clips out. The plastic panel will remain connected to the upper portion but is now disconnected from the ECM chassis.
Next, looking inside the glove box opening at the lower area, remove two bolts that are brass colored and can be removed with a Phillips screw driver or a 10mm socket wrench. After removing the two bolts, pull the ECM chassis toward you to release the push-in pin in the back, then carefully pull down on the left side. The unit has cable connections on the right. Once this is pulled out of the way, you have access to the blower motor. It is attached with 3 small hex head bolts. (5mm I think) Remove each of the bolts. Disconnect the small black rubber tube. Disconnect the cable plug. The blower assembly can now be removed by pulling toward the floor.
It takes about 30 minutes to do this.
The resistor motor may have went out if the heater blower quit working on a 2004 F-250 Truck. The cost to replace the motor is approximately $200.
it needs a blower motor resistor to make the fan settings work.If you replace the Blower MOTOR Resistor it should resolve the problem.
you have to access the blower through the glove compartment. open the compartment and press the tabs on the sides in the back of the compartment. look inside and the bottom right and you will see the blower motor, remove the three screws and the wire harness, replace impeller and replace motor.
about 5 min.
Take it to a repair shop.
replace heater relay and or heater blower motor
When the blower motor stays on it means there is a short to power, or the relay is sticking. 99.9% of the time the relay sticks. I belive on the 2004 silverados the blower motor relay is internal to the blower motor resistor. Try to find an auxillary blower motor relay and if there isn't one then replace the blower motor resistor.
