You jack up the one corner of the vehicle and place it on a jack stand. then you remove the tire. Then remove the upper balljoint castle nut and split the ball joint. Then all that's left is to remove the two bolts securing the control arm to the frame and you should be able to pull the control arm out.

The arm has two bolts to the frame and the ball joint has a pinch bolt to the steering knuckle. place a jack under the knuckle and jack it up a little, then pry ball joint out, unbolt frame bolts and pull it out.
