You must remove the fuel tank as it is located on top and inside the tank, unless you can remove it without dropping the tank.
The 1996 4.3L engine doesn't have a carburetor, it is fuel injected.
my 1995 k1500 suburban weighs in at 6,000 lbs. full of fuel
I have a 1996 K1500 and you do not need to replace the whole sending unit unless your fuel guage is not working properly. Just make sure that you replace the fuel pick up screen when you replace the pump, do not reuse the old screen as it may reduce your new pumps ability to pick up fuel resulting in low fuel pressures. I have a 1997 K1500 and have replaced only the pump a couple times. It is much less costly than replacing the entire tank level sensor etc..
Need to replace the ingnition module in the Distributor.
The 1998 K2500 Suburban has a 44 gallon gas tank.
Try the fuel pump relay.
It is inside of the fuel tank.
No, a 1996 is fuel injected not carburetted. The fuel filter is along the frame.
A whopping Forty-Two (42) gallons or 158 liters for the Canadians.
fuel pump is locatedin the fuel tank. you will have to drop the tank to replace. I recently have done this on my suburban.
You replace it when it fails.
42 gallons is the tank capacity of Suburban.
