When engine is cold of course, drain your coolant, Disconnect the negative battery cable, remove the heater hoses at firewall, disconnect the operating cables from the heater vent housing under dash, and disconnect the defroster duct. Now under the hood again, disconnect the wire from the blower motor, and remove the nuts that hold the heater housing to the firewall. Then under dash, remove the heater housing by tilting it downwards to clear the defroster duct, and back towards passenger seat. Remove the housing cover from the firewall side of the housing and remove the heater core.
Clean the housing and install new heater core and assemble in the reverse of dis-assembly. Don't forget to put coolant back in after it is back together!
