To replace a hood latch on a 1995 F-150, the old hood latch will have to be cut out with a blow torch. The new hood latch will have to be welded in place. Securing with bolts after welding will make the hood latch stronger than that of the original.
Use pliers to pull cord or replace latch.
The only way i can think of would be to remove your bumper so you can get to the latch, and either unbolt the latch from the core support or unbolt it from the hood...
pull the hood latch and by the grill to the left of the ford logo there is a handle push it left and there it is
Not hood latch, but hood alignment. I own a 1994 F150. I even own the "book". The passenger side of the hood is fine. The driver side had a bad hood spring link assembly. If I tried to close the hood, this assembly would sometimes lock up and cause the hood to be bent. Must I buy a hood to make the adjustment or can I adjust and re bend the hood by sitting on the side that is bent? you will need to replace the bad hood spring and then the hood.
I have had the same problem with my F-150. I just removed the lock mechanism. It is fairly easy, just 2 bolts. The cable was fine, it is just the locking mechanism is broken and will not stay locked. Try you Ford dealer or a local salvage yard to replace the latch.
It's on the back near the trunk.
The hood on a 1995 BMW is opened by locating the hood release below and to the left of the steering column. It is pulled outward to release the hood and the latch under the lip of the hood is lifted to open the hood.
Specifics can change depending on the year but you would first need to remove the grill. You then can unbolt the latch and disconnect the cable. Next you can install and adjust the new latch. Lastly reinstall the grill.
use a pry bar and replace hood after you break it
1. Adjust hood latch using 3 screws. Hood striker must be aligned with centre of latch striker. 2. Make sure latch isnt stuck due to tight cable. 3. Adjust hood alignment if necessary (after performing adjustment of hood latch). 4. Ensure hood rubber dampers arent too high (hence not allowing engagement of hood striker to latch mechanism). 5. Lubricate latch mechanism. Eyeball it so you know what's cooking. If all else fails, replace the latch (use a screwdriver to mimic the hood engaging with the latch. If it catches, the latch is OK.)
make sure the cable is not sticking, do this by haveing someone pull up on the hood while you try to pop the hood. When a hood latch goes bad you have to replace it with a new one
Replace it with a new or used one.
