From what I remember its quite an involved process, if its only k-frame, you can probably disconnect lower control arms, from K-frame you will need to support engine and transmission from above, as you will have to unbolt bottom motor mount on passenger side as well, could probably do this at the dog bone connection at bottom of mount, I did it the hard way and removed the motor cradle at the block 5 bolts, 2 of which are hard to get to. as well as have car supported from below on jack stands at body, there are 6 bolts in total that hold k-frame to uni-body. You will also need to take 2 bolts out that hold rack and pinion, and 1 bolt that holds lines for rack, just behind rack, there is one clip that holds a brake line too watch out for. The plastic inner fenders, as well as abs/traction control sensors wire leads if so equipped are also attached to the k-frame assembly, have to disconnect these as well. I had a hydraulic jack supporting k-frame and once all the above was done lowered the cradle to the ground. That should just about do it, working from memory here, so I can't tell you if that covers it all for sure might have forgotten something.

What is the gas mileage for an 01 Pontiac Sunfire?

For what it's worth, my '96 with the small OHV engine and over 200,000 miles on the odometer still gets between 29 and 31 MPG. I would sort of expect that your newer, presumably lower mileage car, would do that well, or better, if it's been maintained well and has no major problems. FriPilot
