The transmission and flywheel need to be removed then the rear main seal is exposed. It is a one piece seal and is easy to remove and replace. I drill two small (1/8") holes opposite each other into the seal then screw two sheet metal screws into the seal. Using the two screws, take a large screw driver and pry the seal out. It comes out easy. Some new seals come with a installation protective guide to help the install so not to damage sealing surface. I would recomend using one.
