You will need to loosen the tensioner pulley. Slide the tensioner pulley to the right and the serpentine belt will become loose. Remove the old serpentine belt and put the new serpentine belt on. Slide the tensioner pulley to the left and tighten it.
were do i find a diagram for the serpentine belt for a 01 ford expedition
That depends entirely on which engine you have.
about $135 at the dealership
Yes you can. However, they do not make a specific serpentine belt for bypassing the ac compressor on a 99-01 Hyundai Sonata. You would have to measure the exact length you need to bypass the ac compressor. The belt would then go around the power steering, crankshaft, and alternator. The tension can be adjusted to fit this custom belt as well.
In Short Yes Did it on my own 01 civic Just need to get different belt for the alternator
Silent Chaos Serpentine was created in 2006-01.
should be a sticker on fan shroud Alternator, idler pulley, power steering, a/c, tensioner pulley, crankshaft pulley, water pump this is the order cant upload the picture but when placing the belt on if the pulley has the grooves in it the grooved side of the belt should face the pulley and if the pulley is smooth then the back of the belt faces the pulley
Hello,Just to let you know an 01 stratus r/t does-not have a serpentine belt; it has a drive belt and 2 others belts as well. I also have an 01 stratus r/t and when I went to replace i had found this out, basically if you have air, which most strat's do I believe its 2 to 3 belts you will need to change. also little heads up about this car, since you have r/t I'm assuming you have 3.0li engine, so if you plan to change timing belt, be sure to also change your water-pump at same time as it is driven off the timing belt, also one last thing, OUR cars are known to break the motor mount that is located right above belts I would highly recommend changing that as well, you will feel much more stable shifts smother idling .... Good luck
It doesn't have a timing belt.
There is a spring "wheel" pressing against the belt, preventing it from falling off. On most years/models, a wratchet (only the tool w/o a socket) fits into the tensioner that you pull slightly to remove tension. Use your other hand to pull the belt off-BUT- draw a rough diagram on how the belt goes prior to removal.
On my 01 I had to replace the timing belt at 70,000 miles due to an idler pully mounting bolt breaking. The belt was showing some wear but it wasn't too bad. I believe that most have the belt replaced at about 80,000 miles.
