You need the user manual which has steps on how you can replace a shifter knob on a 2002 Dodge RAM 1500 with standard transmission.
A 1991 dodge dynasty speedometer bouncing could be a sticking speedometer cable, or a bad drive gear. Check the cable first, and lubricate it to see if the problem stops.
your shifter linkage is probably broken.
this sounds like a problem i had on my 2000 you need to look into having the shifting cable replaced. some of the late 90 models have had a recall on the shifter and if you are in that recall, you can go to a dodge dealer and they replace it for free, that was my case.
Look under your truck and check the shifter linkages.1. Gearshift Linkage/Cable Mis-adjusted/Damaged- Repair or replace linkage parts as needed.
either the shifter cable needs adjusted or the transmission has gone out.
you will probably have to replace the complete mirror, cable and all.
They don't use linkage, they use a cable. The cable goes between the shift lever mechanism to the transmission.
The speedometer is electronic on a 1999 Ram, and does not have a cable.
there is no cable only speed sensor on trans
You don't. There are reasons you aren't allowed to tamper with an odometer. If you have an old jalopy you might be able to replace a broken drive cable, but you can't even do that with a modern digital one. You have to get it replaced.
Might be the sifter cable binding. Could be transmission itself, but just check the cable by disconnecting it from the transmission and moving the shifter... If it moves then its trans, if not then just replace the cable.... My trans went out in my spirit and im trying to fight to get a trans for it, I have a guy who has one but he wants 150 and I cant afford it... But im trying.
