I did it twice on my 92 trans sport 3.8 In theory it is very simple: the water pump is located on the RH side behind (and driven by) the serpentine belt. Unscrew, remove, replace. The difficult part is to get rid of the remains of the old gasket, this must be done thoroughtly and carefully, allow 2 to 4 hours for this part of the job only. You can use a gasket remover spray and a piece of scrap copper 'or soft metal), as not to harm the aluminum surface.
