How do you replace an alternor on a 97 pathfinder
It's inside the alternator, if yours is bad replace the alternator or tear the alternator apart and replace the regulator.
Happened to my 97. The alternator went out. Had to replace it and get a new battery. No problems since.
Disconnect the battery negative. Loosen the belt and remove it from the alternator pulley. Disconnect all wires from the alternator. Unbolt the alternator from the bracket. Remove the alternator.
Disconnect the battery, loosen tensoiner, " the top middle wheel, under distributor cap" disconnect the wires on the alternator , unbolt and good to go

Remove the positive cable from your 1997 Buick LeSabre battery. Remove the alternator belt. Remove the alternator wiring harness. Remove the alternator retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new alternator.
I have a 97 Ford probe and when I had to replace my alternator... I had to pulled the passenger tire off and pull the whole assembly apart so I could get the alternator.. There are 2 bolts to loosen up and pull the belt out slide the alternator down by the exhaust and pull it out by the CV axle
I would check to see if your alternator belt is missing. I have a '95 Pathfinder and my alternator belt has worn off twice within the last year and a half.
The knock sensor for most Nissan V6 engines is located directly under the intake manifold. So to replace it, you have to remove the intake manifold. Good Luck.
The base model pathfinder comes with a single camshaft. There is an upgraded vq33e that comes with twin cams found in the 97 and up SE (special edition) model.
