I am not a mechanic but just had the crank sensor replaced on my 328 (M52) and found a good write up on the net. One of the fuse location for 1997 BMW 528i is in the glove compartment when you open the glove compartment look/feel up it is there kinda hidden.. hope you find this helpful... I had to replace my fuse for the telescoping steering wheel and driver power seat. cheers
