How do you replace fuel pump on 98 s10 v6?
The fuel pump is located in the gas tank. You have to remove the fuel tank from the vehicle. The fuel pump is attached to the fuel gauge float assembly. I am not certain on that particular year but some of the fuel pumps themselves can be removed and replaced and on others you have to replace the entire float/pump assembly.
If you are looking for an inertia switch for the fuel pump, Chevy doesn't use one. That's a Ford thing. However, if you are looking for the fuel pump relay on that 98 S10, look in the glove compartment. You will see a door marked "relays". Behind that access door you will see a few relays, the fuel pump relay will be the first one on your left.
It may also be on the firewall on the passenger side. It may be on the firewall next to your master cylinder. Answer In the glove box behind a plastic panel. There are 3 relays in there. The fuel pump is the one closest to the drivers side. Not all have them in the glove compartment 1995-98 S10 series fuel pump relay is located in the glove compartment.
The fuel pump relay should be under the hood. It is located in a distribution box on the drivers side. In the 1994 S10, the fuel pump relay is located behind the lower dash panel below the radio. In 1995-98 they moved it to inside the glove box. In 1999-up they moved it to the distribution box under the hood.
