Only turn the key on if you need to move the shifter handle. Remove the screws from the center console so that it may be raised a few inches. Remove the radio / heat trim piece by gently pulling on it. The top part should come off first so the lower can slide out from under the console. The rest should be self-evident-- 2 screws and unhook the harnesses. Installation is the reverse of removal.
