This is a very straight-forward repair. The alternator is mounted with 3 bolts plus 1 bracket mounting bolt/nut.
Disconnect negative battery cable
- Disconnect wires - be careful of the rubber - plastic cover, they like to break. Don't drop the nut - the new one may not come with one.
- Loosen all 3 bolts - which will allow the belt to be removed from the pulley
- Remove the mounting bracket / brace (if equipped)
- Remove the 3 mounting bolts and remove alternator
Installation - pretty much reverse, BUT, do not tighten any bolts until you have the belt back in place and are ready to put tension on the belt (I always forget & have re-loosen a bolt or 2)
