Do one side at a time so you can use the other side for reference.
When the shoes/pads have less than 10% of lining left. When shoes/pads are cracked or damaged. When the drums/rotors are replaced.
Either 9 inch or 10 inch brake shoes
That's what I am asking you. How do you replace a parking brake handle on an S-10 1996 Chevy Blazer?
Start with an inspection and adjustment of the parking brake shoes by removing the rear brake rotors. If the brake shoes are good and they are adjusted up and you still need more adjustment, make final adjustments on the brake cables under the drivers side of the vehicle.
You could have either 9 inch or 10 inch , depending on the brake drum size
i bought 9
yes they will. in addition to the larger 10 inch drums (should have cooling fins on the exterior of the drums) you will need a set of 10 inch brake shoes.
There is a switch behind the brake pedal. Fairly easy to replace, or a 10 minute job at a garage.
5 to 10 minutes.
JAK UP TRUK/USE JAK STANDS, REMOVE ONE WHEEL AND THEN TAKE DRUM OFF WITH A RUBBER MALLET, THEN MEASURE THE BACK SIDE OF THE DRUM, THE PART THAT WAS OVER THE BRAKE SHOES
Release parking brake. Place transmission in Reverse. Apply brakes very firmly at about 5 mph. Repeat 10 times. That will automatically adjust the parking brake shoes.
