It's actually a lot easier than most people think. Take everything out of your glove box, than take glove box cover off by simply removing two plastic screws that hold glove box on the bottom, remove glove box cover gently and let it hang. Straight ahead you can see filter cover, remove it.. pull out old filter and insert new one.. That is it! Takes more time to unload the glove box.
NO , try 2007 for the in cabin filters to show up in an Nissan Altima.
Take it to the dealer. Nissan Altima's in the U.S. do not have cabin filters till the 4th generation 2007+, so your 1998 will NOT have one to replace.
I doubt that a 1993 model has a cabin filter. Go to a parts store and ask for one. If it has one they will sell it to you. Purolator cabin filters come with instructions.

No it doesn't. They didn't start in-cabin filters for the Altima's until 2000.

On the website www.nissanclub.com they have an excellent FAQ section for 2007+ generation Altima's. In it you will find a how-to with pictures on how to change your cabin filter.

where is cabin filter
The cabin filter was introduced to Nissan Frontier's in 2002.
In my 2001 Nissan Altima, my oil filter is located on the side of the engine closest to the interior cabin. In addition, it is on the passenger side of the car. Probably close to where the glove compartment would be. It is very hard to see and you will have to be underneath the vehicle. Also, the oil filter is kinda small.
it's inside the glove compartment, look on top, you'll see two latches, unhook them and pull the filter right out.
Most are located behind the glovebox. Look in your owners manual, they usually show you how to acess and change.
The 1999 Nissan Maxima does not have a cabin air filter. It never came with one.
The cabin air filter is located behind the glove compartment, you will have to unscrew 7 screws to remove it and to get access to the Cabin Micro-filters door. Nissan recommends to replace the micro-filters every year or every 15,000 miles.
Where is the cabin filter located.
It does not have a cabin filter from the factory.
to my knowledge, it has no cabin filter!
I don't think it has a cabin air filter.
It is located behind the glove box. The glove box must be removed and you will see an access panel in the duct work. Remove this panel and you will see the filter.
I found the diagram by googleing courtesy Nissan parts and searching forthat part name in the interior parts.
