If it is a 1999 Suburban with a 350 there are two screws. Remove all your wires first. Take a T15 Torx driver and take them out. The cap should be loose and you can use light pressure and pull straight up. Be sure not to move the distributor shaft relative to the engine. This is a net timing application and you will have to take it to the dealer to have it timed.
To replace the ignition module on a 1999 GMC Suburban, first disconnect the negative battery cable to ensure safety. Remove the distributor cap and rotor to access the ignition module, which is typically mounted on the side of the distributor. Disconnect the electrical connectors and unbolt the module from the distributor. Finally, install the new module, reassemble the distributor, and reconnect the battery.
The cam shaft position sensor is located under the distributor cap. You can replace this easily by undoing the screws holding on the distributor cap, remove and replace the sensor, then just replace the distributor cap.

I would replace the module in the distributor. Take the distributor cap off and it will be the idem that has 2 small screws that hold it on the base of the distributor, and it will have electric wires that hook to it. The module controls the fuel and fire.
there is no distributor on a 98 rav. therefore no cap or rotor. replace the plugs and wires and the tuneup is done
