Remove the three nuts that secure the mirror to the door, using a 10-mm socket and ratchet. Pull the old mirror out of the door and slide the studs of the new mirror into the door. Be careful not to scratch the paint with the metal studs. Bolt the mirror onto the door with the three nuts. Reconnect the wiring harness by pushing the two connectors together. Place the plastic mirror cover on the door and push it into place with your hand.

i just had this problem with my 93 probe, the rear view mirror fell off. i couldn't get mine apart either. I went to pepboys and they said there's a clip that you can't get to, but pepboys does sell a "button" all by itself. It' was like $4. Buy that. It takes about 5 minutes total to put it on. You'll just attach the new button to the windsheild, and the old rear view mirror to that.

If it's anything like my 87 was (and it should be, they're basically the same car from 87 to 91), you have to take apart the door panel so that you can get the little plastic cover for the mirror off, where you can then get the screws off. There's also a little white plastic clip in there, just squeeze those with some pliers to get it off.
