you have to remove the dash panel by removing the four screws holding it in place, then removing the four screws holding the stock stereo in place, unclip the wires and then re-connect them to your new stereo deck that will need a new cradle for. Secure the new deck in the cradle and then secure the cradle to the factory mount, replce the dash panel secure it and your done. (this entire process took me about 30 mins on my 98 grand am) *A word of caution. Make sure the Factory radio does not have a enabled anti theft. If you remove your radio and this is active your whole car could shut down and without the code you are looking a some major dollars for some garage to fix the problem. Run it over to a GM repair shop they won't cahrge you for a quick glance.

All Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ's(1993-1998) have a 1.5 DIN stereo. It is most easy to get a single DIN kit and install a single DIN stereo, but many have opted to cut out a bigger opening and block off the center vents to fit a double DIN stereo. If you want a 1.5 DIN aftermarket stereo, you will be best off buying a marine stereo. Many manufacturers make 1.5 DIN Marine head units.
