The minimum thickness for rotors on a Dodge truck is between 0.5 and 1 inch. It varies greatly based on the model and whether it is the front or rear brakes.
It could be that the rear brakes are not functioning properly; leading to the front brakes having to compensate. That is, if the front ones are going out much quicker than the rear. I believe that the front ones just naturally wear faster than the rear ones On a light truck the front brakes will do up to 75% of the braking.
You need to remove the head lap it has some scews on the side and on front.
call your local auto parts store.the cheapest pads for my truck are about $25 for the front set.

If your brakes are ineffective, you have a problem, part of that problem is that your truck is 23 years old. Why don't you change the fluid, replace the front pads and rear shoes. Replace the front rotors and rear drums. Inspect the rubber brake lines as they may be collapsing. Replace the master cylinder. Do all this if it is all necessary and I bet you have good brakes again. Fix the problem or problems and you will not have ineffective brakes.

You will probably have to replace the upper and lower ball joints. Dodge does not put grease fittings on these from the factory, because of this they wear quickly and the squeaking you here is the metal to metal in the ball joint when there is motion in the front end of the truck.
The front rotors are out of round are warped. Turn are replace rotors and be sure to replace the brake pads even if thay look good. I would also check the tie rods too.
