How do you replace the fuel filter located on a 1994 Dodge Spirit?

The fuel filter is located under the car, on the right side, on the frame. Lie down next to the back wheel and you should be able to see the fuel lines running to it from the tank, and away from it towards the front of the vehicle. Undo the two fuel lines and then remove the bolt holding it to the frame. There is one other consideration in doing this. You need to keep in mind that the fuel is under pressure, and removing the two rubber hoses from the filter (before you unbolt the filter from the underbody) will cause a major squirting mess to occur. You can either relieve the fuel pressure at the FI unit as per Haynes shop manual procedure, or, more simply, pinch off the two rubber lines before removing them from the filter. Most auto parts stores sell pinch clamps made for this purpose, and I use them every time I have changed my Spirit's fuel filter successfully. Ive changed alot of fuel filters on Dodge Spirits and Caravan and ive never once had a squirting to happen from the lines, when unbolting the lines, i just simply have a cup ready and slowly move the fuel line and let it drain into like a cup or whatever I might have then put it back into the tank so I wont lose any fuel.
