there is no cabin filter on that year model 2003 and up models only
On earlier models there is a canister filter just in front of the rear right hand wheel. On later models (XA VIN numbers) the filter is in the fuel pump inside the tank. To replace, drop the tank and replace the pump. It is possible to bypass the filter by replumbing the pump assembly but your MUST fit a canister filter in the delivery line if you do this.

You may have the wrong filter in there. The pan is deeper on some models. Also be sure to replace the seal up in the transmission that the filter fits into.
I recommend every 36,000 miles. Models after 1992 do not need the fuel filter replaced, and it is not recommended by the manual (lifetime filter on the fuel pump)

You need to remove the lid on the air cleaner compartment by unscrewing the wing nut. Take off the lid, remove the old filter, replace with new filter. Replace the lid on compartment and tighten wing nut. Later models have metal clips, but the rest is the same.

The cam sensor is located on the top of the engine where older models had a distributor installed. The sensor needs a special tool to be able to remove and replace it.
For carbureted models: Usually the fuel filter is located inside the fuel line going into carb. You must remove fuel line to get to filer. Unscrew filter hosing replce with new filter and spring.. For fuel injected models: Usually the filter is in the fuel line on the bottom side of the car either along the driver's side pinch weld or somewhere along the sides of the fuel tank.
