The fuel systems for those two engines are different. The non-turbo engine in a 1993 900 was 2.1-liters and had yet another fuel system variation. It could be done, but you would have to replace the entire fuel system and probably the ignition system to make it work correctly, and you would have a less powerful engine than was available in 1993.
