No, these are likely completely different platforms, though I can't recall when the LeSabre went front wheel drive. If the engine is transverse, there are no compatibilities with a Caprice.
The dash has to be removed to gain access to the heater box. The heater box then comes out and is split open to replace the core.
You take it out and put a new one in
Call the dealer, and ask for the different kinds of speedometer gears, you'll be lucky if you can still get one. They Usually go by color and teeth count. If I remember right, they are the typical cause.
Remove the water supply hoses from your 1985 Chevy heater core. Remove the heater core retaining bolts. The heater core will come out. Reverse the process to install your new heater core.
