No you can not, It is under to much pressure when engine is running. NEED to REPLACE IT.
How to I remove the heater core hose from my 1998 Mazda MPV from the motor. The hose is hidden from view. Can't get a tool or my hands inside the small space to remove the clip. Can you help me?
Cut off the crimp connectors, pull the old hose off and replace with conventional heater hose and conventional hose clamps

follow the bottom radiator hose up to the engine and remove the two bolts an you should see it

The heater inlet hose on a 1999 Jeep Wrangler 4.0L is located in the left, rear of the engine compartment. It connects directly to the heater core which circulates heat throughout the cabin.
I would simply call my mechanic.
On a 1998 B 4000, it is in the housing at the attachment of the upper heater hose.
Drain the radiator. Disconnect the heater hose connections at the fire wall. loosen the dash screws and pull it out, just enough to reach the heater core. Unbolt the core and pull it out. Revers the process for installation.
loosen the clamp holding the hose on to a fitting and pull the hose free.
