To remove the switch you need to also remove the barrel. firstly disconnect the plug at the back of the switch, this is done by inserting ignition key and turn to position "I" using a small screwdriver push up through the hole in the bottom of the electrical connector and pull it off. to remove the barrel you need to leave the key in position "I" then place a very small (jewelers type) screw driver through the hole in the top of the barrel (easier access to the hole can be achieved by removing the column switch), you should be able to withdraw the barrel. Pull in the two retaining clips at the bottom of the switch, it will now slide down. The new switch will slide up into position (before putting in position use a screwdriver to turn the new switch so it is also in position 1). The barrel complete with key in position one will slide back and lock into position, if it doesn't it could be the steering lock has engaged this can be released by pressing down on the lever at the right deep inside the barrel housing, barrel will slide in now.
no
He doesnt, he escapes.
Replace fuse 33
1983 doesnt have a crankshaft position sensor. you have an ignition module located on the side of the distributor.
if you are changing the ignition cylinder you need to remove the steering wheel and dig down to the lock cylinder that way. do becareful you will need a special tool to reinstall components under steering wheel. I had to replace mine when the wire broke that reads the chip in the key The special tool he is speaking of is called a spring depressor.
I dont think so, bought one yesterday and it doesnt!
yet it is possible the answer it cames from the opel manufacturer and the cost is about $80
Sounds like a blown head gasket.
take the thug approach and rip the door off
Cylinders 1 and 4 on are the same coil. So I would probly start by replacing the 1/4 coil, and if that doesnt solve anything, replace the ignition module next.
ignition barrel needs changing this is a common fault
Replace the thermostat.
